Brandon Matheson, P.E.
Founder and CEO

Brandon Matheson provides vision, strategy and direction for The Wildcat Group. Under Brandon's leadership, The Wildcat Group has grown to deliver dozens of successful residential, office, and multifamily redevelopment projects in a range of different settings and niches. Since founding the company, Brandon has pursued his passions of transforming communities and challenging and helping others to become the best they can be.

After relocating from Chicago to Tucson and receiving a rodeo scholarship as a bull rider, Brandon earned a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona. Brandon began his career as a mining engineer with experience in North and South America. He later became licensed as a professional civil engineer, working on dozens of residential and commercial developments as a consultant, regulator, and City Engineer. He began investing and redeveloping real estate in 2007 and formed The Wildcat Group to focus on the redevelopment of multifamily properties.

Brandon is co-founder and President of Fighting Chance Mentors, a non-profit that matches topic-specific mentors with disadvantaged youth to explore and navigate individualized paths forward. Brandon is also a mentor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southern Arizona. He enjoys reading on a wide range of topics, spending time outdoors with family and friends, traveling, hiking, kayaking, camping, four-wheeling, playing board games, and writing.

Jason Loftis
Chief Operating Officer

Jason Loftis has been in the Real Estate industry for nearly thirty years.  While pursuing a degree in Business Management with a focus on Real Estate and Urban Development from Virginia Commonwealth University, Jason worked in property management leasing apartment homes.  His varied experience includes multifamily property management, multifamily asset management, residential and commercial land development, multifamily renovation, and custom home building.

In addition to his role as the Chief Operating Officer of The Wildcat Group, Jason is the Principal and Managing Member of a custom homebuilder and developer in Richmond, VA.  Prior to joining The Wildcat Group, Jason was the President of Hercules Real Estate Services, Inc.  In his role at Hercules, he oversaw the operations of nearly 9000 apartment homes from Pennsylvania to Florida.  The diverse portfolio included Class A luxury communities, B and C classed assets as well as tax credit and LIHTC Section 42 and HUD communities.  Many of these assets underwent value-add repositioning during Jason’s tenure.  Under his leadership the Hercules team achieved consistent YOY growth through not only operational efficiencies but superior asset and property management. 

Jason is a licensed Class A General Contractor and a licensed Real Estate agent in Virginia.  He is also a member of ULI, NMHC and NAHB.


Daniel Barr,

CFA, CAIA

Dan Barr oversees the finance team and analytics program for The Wildcat Group. While at Credit Suisse, Dan led a team of controllers responsible for the residential and commercial mortgage entities with over $12B in mortgages. Previously, Dan was CFO and partner in a residential development company for 8 years. Dan is a charterholder in the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst programs.

Josef Lapko
Director of Projects

Josef manages procurement for the company’s development activities and handles special projects relating to growth and development. Before working with The Wildcat Group, Josef held a range of leadership roles in real estate, including most recently Chief Operating Officer for Sunshine Homes & Management, a residential developer based in New Jersey and New York. Before that, he ran Solon on the Lake, a $300 million development project in Ohio, and was instrumental in the negotiation, entitlement, and development of a $50 million ground-up residential project in Panama City, Florida.

Before focusing on real estate, he spent four years as a project manager at Intel. He also founded a high-profile event production company in Israel, where he ran over 200 events for tens of thousands of guests, served as an HR leader within the Israeli Defense Force, and raised millions in donations for The Aish World Center, an international Jewish outreach organization. He is a martial arts enthusiast, holding a black belt in Taekwondo, and in addition to spending time with his family is producing several documentaries on historical Jewish leadership.
